Look, I get it…

Going to the gym can be VERY intimidating at times. Between the grunting, smells, sounds of heavy weights getting tossed to the floor dramatically (seriously…can we stop doing that please??), to all of the various body physiques exhibiting various levels of strength and beastiness. (And I use that last word with love as a certified Personal Trainer and gym rat myself!)

On top of all of that, if you can only make it to the gym during peak hours you might have to deal with all of the equipment you want to use being taken, or long waits in between sets because you’re sharing 1 piece of equipment with 3 other people.

Plus the germs, endless mess, and…did I mention SMELLS?

I genuinely LOVE going to the gym. There’s nothing better than zoning out and channeling all of my emotions into working my muscles until they burn. And the people there are typically really cool (once you get used to all of the “gym bro” quirks).

But I don’t always feel like dealing with it.

So this is a list of some of my favorite equipment to get in a solid, effective workout at home.

Tangle – Free Speed Jump Rope – $8.99

Jumping is one of my favorite ways to warm up. When I don’t have access to a rebounder, jumping rope is the perfect way to get my heart rate up, my blood flowing, and my muscles warm. The cardiovascular benefits speak for themselves, but this really shines as a fat loss exercises.

5 – 10 minutes is enough to get some awesome benefits. But if you put on your favorite workout playlist you can easily go 20 minutes!

Be sure to do both a gastrocnemius stretch AND a soleus stretch before and after you jump.

Weighted Jump Rope – $17

Be sure to do both a gastrocnemius stretch AND a soleus stretch before and after you jump.

Workout Gloves – $14

Have you ever had to stop in the middle of a great workout, not because your muscles were tired, but because your hands were so SORE??? Ever gotten blisters from kettlebells, barbells, rings, or chin up bars?

Yeah, it’s NOT fun.

If you have sensitive skin like me, workout gloves might work out well for you! (haha see what I did there?)

Workout Log – $7.99

Idk about you but I HAVE to go to the gym with a plan.

If I don’t, I spend waaay too much time thinking about what I should do next or even just trying to remember what I did earlier so I can know what I need to do a second set of. 🫠

Having everything written down and tracking my exercises, sets, reps, and weight (meaning dumbbell or machine weight, not bodyweight) helps me to make sure that I strengthen each muscle equally and helps me to reach my goals faster.

Sweat Waist Trainer Corset – $19.99

The concept of waist training has been debunked multiple times, but that doesn’t stop people from doing it! While I’m not a fan of the idea, I DO love using sweat wraps to help raise my body temperature more quickly, especially during the winter!

Though there may not be any real “waist training” benefits, I love the sweat component so I definitely recommend this!

Want to get the best ab workout you’ve had in your life? Position yourself in a plank with your feet on the sliders and drag yourself around the room using only your hands.

My abs had never felt such pain OR seen this much definition before I started doing these. 10/10 recommend!

Black Puzzle Fitness Mat – as seen in commercial gyms – $29.99

This is an item that you won’t regret buying. Dropping weights, dragging benches, sliding on sliders. and even your workout shoes can cause a lot of damage to your floors. I highly recommend you protect them with this puzzle fitness mat so you can have peace of mind while you get in your workout.
